Setting term limits in Washington, and keeping attorneys out of the federal law making process are only a start. WE can either be a nation of political couch potatoes , lying on our proverbial couches and whining about not being able to find the universal government remote, or we can get out and do something.

            Energy Reform

Congress and the presidential candidates also talk about reducing our dependence on oil and other fossil fuels. Plans exist on building large solar and wind power generating areas and incorporating them into the power grid. Any power grid, be it nuclear, fossil, solar or wind, is susceptible to widespread outages from weather or terrorist attacks. Brokers for oil, gas, coal, and nuclear power claim to be "energy" company s. If that were really true, they would be on the cutting edge of new energy technology rather than simply raising prices and looking to the federal government for "assistance" in re-building the power grid.
With advances in solar/wind technologies, it is possible for every residential structure to provide for its own electrical power. If you want your state to set guidelines requiring all new homes to be self powered by 2010, and have sufficient tax credits for existing home owners to convert to solar/wind generation, circulate this petition.
